Brief

Create a PR strategy for the launch of brand new arts and wellness island, Obonjan; an innovative new Croatian travel destination, from the people behind Unknown festival.

Strategy

Kingdom Collective created a launch strategy centered around the positioning of Obonjan as “Europe’s first dedicated arts and wellness island’.  From this, we built a series of targeted micro-campaigns around the island’s individual wellness, food, music, art and talks programmes.

Activity

Kingdom Collective oversaw all communications for the launch of the concept, through to opening and the island’s inaugural season.

Some of the activity included;

  • Establishing “Founding Islander” influencer programme; identifying key tastemakers from fashion, design, wellness and music industries to offer bespoke experiences during the first season
  • Securing exclusives with top tier media across lifestyle, arts and travel titles to cover on launch day
  • Brokering partnership deals between headline talent and media outlets to sustain coverage throughout the season
  • Devised and delivered the island’s “Artist in Residence” programme
  • Management of 20+ press trips to the island over the summer season, facilitating interviews with Directors as well as high profile talent such as Gilles Peterson, Four Tet and Anderson Paak.

Over 200 pieces of coverage including features in The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Times, Conde Nast Traveler, The Independent, Metro, Elle, Cool Hunting, Grazia and many more.
