Carnival milestones

What’s a Bank Holiday weekend without a bit of rain? Revellers defied wet weather for another year at Notting Hill Carnival. KC too were there. Donned in our macs, we joined Red Bull Music Academy for its 10th carnival outing. While Sunday saw a rain-drenched Sound System with the likes of Maleek Berry, Afro B & Team Salut, Dre Skull, Trillary Banks and more, a bespoke float in collaboration with local mas band Mangrove rode the official parade on the Monday. It wasn’t just a special milestone for Red Bull Music, Mangrove celebrated their 40th anniversary at carnival. Rolling deep onto the streets of West London, the two crews became one in celebration of Mangrove’s generation-spanning carnival legacy.
